During the overseas missions, the eye screenings and cataract surgeries were carried out under rather primitive conditions. On some occasions, I had to bring my own portable equipment and medications. In addition, I had to pay for my own expenses that included airfare, food, lodging and ground transportation. I do not mind because I am happy to be able to help the poor villagers who would otherwise have no access to modern medical care.

Free medical treatment had also been given to priests, monks, nuns and patients who could not afford medical treatment in Singapore.
