What is Age-related macular degeneration (ARMD)?
Age-related macular degeneration is a degenerative process affecting the macula of the eye results in impairment or loss of central vision
Types of ARMD
There are 2 types:

Symptoms of ARMD
- Blurred central vision such as difficulty in reading driving or recognize faces.
- Wavy lines

Diagnosis of ARMD
This is done by checking the vision, intraocular pressure, dilating the pupils to check the back of the eye (retina), visual field assessment, optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the macula, fundal fluorescein angiography and indocyanine green angiography.
Treatment
This depends on the severity of the condition, whether it is the dry or wet form of ARMD.
